Thank you for your participation to the 2015 IDF/ISO Analytical Week and the Final OptiMIR Scientific and Expert Meeting!

The 2015 IDF/ISO Analytical Week was held in conjunction with the Final OptiMIR Scientific and Expert Meeting in Namur, Belgium, from April 13 - 17 2015. Namur, capital of Wallonia, gateway to the Belgian Ardennes, is located in the heart of Belgium and nearby Brussels. The convention center, the former ‘Louis XIII' style stock exchange, is ideally situated in the historic city center, close to the main visiting sights of the beautiful city of Namur.

Each year, IDF and ISO organize the IDF/ISO Analytical Week, hosted by an IDF National Committee. During a week of business meetings, the members of Standing Committees and Project Groups network and drive forward the standardization of international IDF/ISO standards and other related items. This week includes an international symposium tackling topical subjects of interest in the field of methods of analysis and sampling, and comprises an exhibition of analytical providers. This year, the IDF/ISO Analytical week was hosted by the Belgian Committee and the international symposium was the Final OptiMIR Scientific and Expert Meeting entitled “From milk analysis to advisory tools”.

The Final OptiMIR Scientific and Expert Meeting, held from April 16-17, provided an overview of the recent advances in the development of advisory tools for the dairy sector. Many aspects were covered during the symposium: from the latest progress in rapid analytical methods to determine milk composition and quality to the development of systems for data interpretation and integration. The sessions combined both invited and free contributions. Also, the results obtained through the OptiMIR project were disseminated. Finally, a satellite session gathered together experts from the field to further explore practical implications and on-field utilization of such research.
